cover fx is an amazing brand, no doubt. why? cover fx was created by a corrective makeup specialist who worked with patients that suffered from rosacea, eczema, vitiligo, psoriasis and even burn victims. she was finding that there wasn’t makeup sensitive enough for her patients, gave the full coverage that they needed, or was offered in a wide range of colors. she partnered with a chemical engineer and dermatologist to create cover fx. all of their products are seriously fab and are oil-free, paraben-free, fragrance-free, and perfect for sensitive skin. they have the biggest range of shades i have personally seen!
standout products include:
brite prep foundation primer: this primer is gorgeous! it gives a pretty glow to the skin and has an spf 50 with uva/uvb protection. it’s also going to give you the benefits of a typical primer by filling in pores and wrinkles, allowing your makeup to go on smoothly, and extending the wear of your foundation. you can wear this alone too if you just want a healthy glow with spf!
total coverage cream foundation: this is the ultimate coverage foundation. i have yet to find a foundation that gives fuller coverage. this cream will cover anything from acne, hyperpigmentation, hypopigmentation, redness, and even tattoos (angelina jolie has used it over her tattoos in movies!) it gives a dewy finish and contains an spf 30. you need literally the tiniest amount for your face so remember less is more! i’ve actually had a woman start crying after i applied this product on her skin because she was so happy with the results. she was deeper complected and had a small patch of hypopigmentation on her chin; this cream completed concealed it and looked natural. it was a touching experience!
camouflage concealer: honestly, my initial reaction when i tried these concealers was eww. i thought they offered a poor choice in shade range; however, i just learned that they are actually pigment-adjusting as they will adjust to your skin tone. a little goes a long way with these and i suggest using their eye primer beforehand or it may crease a bit.
cover fx makes the bitch list!!
the beauty bitches gathered in richmond, va this past weekend for the annual best friends day fest at hadad’s lake. a hot summer day filled with bands, booze, and babes calls for one important thing first: SUNSCREEN! fairly newish company, supergoop! gave us samples to try of their spf 30 sunscreen swipes so we figured it would be the perfect opportunity to give them a whirl. we lathered up with our swipes and 7 hours later, burn and streak free! not to mention they are paraben-free (scu me, cancer) and great for sensitive skin!
our verdict? bitch list!
This versatile, oil free “Blemish Balm” officially makes the bitch list! Apply this cream as your last skincare routine step. It works to nourish and hydrate the skin, while softening the appearance of fine lines, pores, and uneven skin tone. It comes in one shade that can adjust to most skin tones, with sheer, luminous coverage. Packed with antioxidants and a SPF 27 PA++, for protection against environmental damages. Great for all skin types..
This cream is now my foundation substitute for any daytime, natural look. Make sure when applying that you actually blend it into the skin like a moisturizer.

Thank you Tarte for creating this fabulous tinted moisturizer!! This natural, lightweight, oil free, water based tinted moisturizer blends beautifully into the skin while the micro-treated mineral pigments soften the look of fine lines and wrinkles. It is packed with amazing ingredients such as vitamins A, C, and E, chamomile and sodium hyaluronate that work together to calm, nourish and revitalize your skin. And of course, for your protection it has an SPF 20! This formula leaves your skin feeling hydrated and has a medium build-able coverage. Love it!!!

It is summertime; everybody either wants a tan, or wants to fake it. Here are some tips.
First of all, skin cancer is not a joke (d u h), so lets not overdo it k? Not to mention all the damage you will be causing your skin… if you are a sun worshiper later in life you will for sure be looking for advice on how to get rid of your wrinkles and dark spots….and trust me, it is not easy. So, if you are in the sun wear your spf!!!! If you are a fake-and-bake tanning bed user…well that is just not cute. Orange may be the color of the season (according to Heather<3), but that isn’t referencing your skin…
Solution: try Bare Escentuals’ “faux tan”, or MAC’s “Skinsheen Leg Spray”. They both give you a buildable realistic looking tan that does not streak (if used properly) and both last about 5-7 days. So if you want a tan but don’t want to add extra age to your skin, try faking it first! Gimme that faux tan fo sho!
